God please hear my prayer

May 2, 2013

How many times have you prayed to God asking him to heal someone who is sick, hurting, or even dying? I was reading in Matthew chapter 9 where a man came to Jesus and told Him that his daughter had died and would He come and lay His hand on her so that she would live. Jesus went to her and took her hand and she came back to life. This is found in Matthew 9:18,23-25 18 While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

23 When Jesus came into the official’s house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24 He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. 25 But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

I do not know how many times I have heard people say that they did not understand why God did not here there prayers, for they believe in Him, and they prayed with laying on of hands, but God just let them die. They would say well we must not have enough faith so God would not listen to them, or God is an unjust God he made this happen, and some say that they will never believe in Him again. All I can say to these people is that God is a loving God and He hears our prayers and He answers or Prayers but it may not be the answer we want to hear. When I think of God answering or prayers, I think of three different ways. 1. He just heals them, 2. He gives the doctors the wisdom to heal them, and 3. He takes them home to be with Him, I feel this would be the ultimate healing, but we as humans do not want this answer for we want the love one to stay with us. We cannot see the whole picture like God can so we do not understand so here again I say keep with the faith loving God and let Him lead us till we are home with Him.

  1. It is good when we come to know and understand that prayer is not like some magic incantation that we use to overcome a person, circumstance, or situation. It is not a means of seeking favor and asking Him to make things turn out a certain way; according to our desire(s).

Rather, prayer is a humbling of our heart; admitting to God that we need His guidance and strength. It is a way for us to align our will (our heart) with His.

That is very true and yet people want God to fit in to what they are doing instead of them plugging into what God is doing. My pastor tales us we can do what we want to, and when we start walking with God He will change our want to’s to go along with Him, that is God. So many times we as people go to God only with what I call 911 prayers because we think we can do every thing our selves but when in reality we need to go before the Farther with everything.
